David Doyle Electrical is working on a new pathology department that is being constructed on the ground floor roof of the University Hospital Kerry.

This new pathology department will include offices, a laboratory, and ancillary spaces. The project shows a significant development in laboratory medicine services in the southwest of Ireland, as University Hospital Kerry provides services to Kerry and the surrounding areas.
Scope of Works
- David Doyle Electrical are integrating power, data, fire alarm, security, and access control systems into the existing systems in University Hospital Kerry. These upgrades will improve the hospital’s efficiency and safety.
- External lighting was installed from the maternal ward to the new emergency door. They also added external lights along the emergency escape footpath. In the reception area, recessed modular LED fittings were installed. These fittings were placed in selected ground floor areas, including corridors and the gift shop.
- David Doyle Electrical connected a new circuit for a new Heat Recovery Unit in the existing post room of the hospital.
- Power cables were connected to existing MCBs. The team affixed a supplementary MCB for heat recovery systems. They also isolated the existing University Hospital distribution board. New wiring was installed for services in the main entrance lobby.
- There was an electrical upgrade of the coffee dock, which included stripping out the old circuitry and the installation of a new RCBO.
- David Doyle Electrical upgraded the old coffee dock to offices. The team retrofitted MCBs and RCBOs with 6 socket circuits. They also added a lighting circuit and a 16A HRU circuit.
